To control my own life.
i hated going out in service on christmas and new year's day.
hated it!!!
!
Here are a few things that top my list:
1. Field Service
2. Giving talks
3. Having to tell other people that I was a JW
i was raised as a witness and have been miserable for my entire existence.
i have hated every moment of it.
after about 10 years of struggling, i decided 2 years ago that i was done w/ the charade and wasn't going to return to the meetings.
I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's good that you joined us. You'll get a lot of support here.
In time, your sister may start speaking to you again. She's just angry right now. You know how the witnesses feel threatened whenever they are faced with anything outside of their comfort zone. They have a fight and flight reaction. But I'm sure your sister still loves you, and when she calms down, she may realize that she's taking things too far. I am trying to get my sister out too, and we had terrible fights. But we agreed to disagree and keep the topic on other things. She will bring it up and if it goes too far, I just tell her that we need to stop now, or I'll say things she doesn't want to hear.
Stay strong.
Congrats!
this is one of the sadest days in my life, my beloved husband marco passed away this morning at 5:15 am.. it has been a dreadful day.
but my dear friend was with most of the day while we went togerther to make funeral arrangements.. that was really hard on me.
i have done nothing but cry and cry all day, i finally fell asleep a few hours ago while my friend diane was here and she let me sleep.
I'm so sorry My thoughts and prayers are with you
my son is twenty years old, a good kid, is doing great in college so i usually keep the door closed to his bedroom so i don't have to look.
today he took out a huge batch of laundry for me to do and the odor from that bedroom had me reeling.. here is my humorous but deadly serious post on the matter:!!!!!.
after vacuuming, enough dust to fill the entire dust bin in the vacuum.. enough change on the floor to keep him in fast food for a week.....(don't ask me for money).
My son is only 13, but his room never gets that bad. Why? Because I decided a long time ago that he shouldn't be spending his time cleaning his room. He does help with his laundry, but I need help with the rest of the house! So I would rather clean his room (from time to time), in exchange for vacumming the other rooms, scrubbing floors, bathtubs, and other things that need to be done. Chores are also good for punishment and earning extra money. He cleaned toilets for the first time after getting in trouble at school. So yes, I'll clean his room, because the rest of the house looks great!
newbie here.
i feel i will enjoy my stay.
interesting talk last nite on marking.
It's just another way to control people in the congregations. Whatever they can't fit into the categories of disfellowshipping or public reproof, they can always go to door # 3, marking.
i can honestly say, that several days and even weeks can go by, without me thinking about the witnesses.
i come here and skip the witness related topics, unless they mention something about changes or new understanding.
i just do not put a lot of focus on them, at this point in my life.
If I didn't have family members still in, I would never think about it.
as many of you may know, i'm currently an ms and pioneer, and been missing meetings consistently for almost 2 months.
i have been concerned about my dad's reaction to me wanting to leave the org and he's been questioning me about missing meetings.
well i've decided now not to jump through the elders' hoops anymore.
Good for you, you're taking control Stay strong!
